Dog in need of prosthetic front leg

While this dog was in the care of someone else she had a sore that was ignored, it became infected and her leg had to be amputated. She was removed from the care of this person and I am caring for her now. 

Yesterday on her short walks, her front existing leg started to spasm. We stopped and rested. When she was ready we continued slowly. Her surgery was in the beginning of March. She has adapted quite well but now 4 months later the affects are starting. 

 

She loves to run and be on the go. Sasha is in great shape. But you can see the exhaustion in her after a short walk. There is a lot of heart strain that accompanies this injury due to the exertion to walk. She has to get a rhythm which is like jogging. I'm getting exercise!

So as time goes on though , losing a front leg is more of a burden to the dog.  the other front leg starts to have issues like Foot stress, arthritis, shin splints and then pushes to the center causing spinal problems. 

 

 I found a company called 3D Pets that specializes in front leg prosthetics for dogs. A cart for a front leg is not suitable . I have reached out to the community with good response and to some charities but no word from them yet. I am a business woman and try to give back to the community. To help her and find resources for her owner, that is one more person off the street.

  I am caring for her needs like food, vet, flea guard, meds, a comfy thick bed . She gets daily massages to her overworked muscles. You can see the sadness in her. She’s been thru a lot.  She won’t chew a bone because she can’t hold it.
