Sweet Kinsley Faith Coates and family ♡°

Hello my name is Lynn I'm helping to raise money for my sweet Grand God Daughter and her family during a difficult time. Kinsley was a health happy 6 month old baby with no issues. On Thursday May 25th she spiked a fever and stopped eating or drinking. Throughout the night she started to struggle with breathing. She was grunting and pushing. Friday she was taken to the Emergency room. No test ran. Her mother was advised it was a sinus infection. She went home with sweet Kinsley. Throughout the night and into Saturday morning she seem to become worse. Her parents decided to take her to a different emergency room to see if they could get answers. They weren't comfortable with the prevoius diagnosis. Upon arriving at the ER with the same symptoms as the night before just a little more intense the nurses and doctors seen the struggle and immediately begin running labs and x-rays. They advised the family that they didn't have the equipment to take care of sweet Kinsley that she would need to go to a larger hospital. Off to Roanoke Memorial she went. After several labs, x-rays, ultra sounds and CT they finally found a sever abscess located internally wedged between her stomach, intestines and lungs. As well as moving around into her back. Antibiotics were started and she was transferred upstairs to PICU. On Monday morning Kinsley had surgery to drain the infection. During the surgery they discovered the abscess was way larger than expected. She was originally placed on the ventilator as to help her body rest. Kinsley has had complications since surgery and none of the antibiotics have been reactive so far. Our sweet Kinsley has given us a major scare with CPR needed once, and several small scares. She is having trouble regulating her heart and is still on the vent. Today June 2nd she had to have a second surgery. She is now in recovery and stable. Please if you've got the ability to or know someone who does please help this family out. Every penny counts. The hospital has been amazing in helping. Any funds raised will go towards food, gas, and any other daily needs. Thank you in advance

A well awaited praise report has come in.

First we would like to thank everyone for their messages, calls, and donations. The outpouring of love has been amazing. Most of all thank you for all the prayers.

Glory be to God.
Kinsley received good news this morning. After seven scary days with no improvement. On Friday we were advised they only had two more options for courses of treatment left, there was another abscess found during CT and surgery was needed. Surgery went well. Over the weekend Kinsley was able to have comparable to the nights a days before "good days." Saturday she was placed on an antibiotic that the bacteria was responsive to. So at a slow go she began to lose the fluid and infection that had taken over her sweet body.

Amen praise God we're moving in a positive direction. Still very sick but making progress. A good weekend!

But wait, you know how God loves to show out. How he likes to show us his mercy and grace. This morning Kinsley's parents were handed more blessed news.

As of this morning Kinsley has a culter that's went 48 hours and still going testing negative for any bacterial growth. The longer she goes the less the infection. We need 5 days negative to be cleared. Today the doctor plans on weaning her off the current sedation and pain medication she is on to get her on something that is a little less aggressive and strong. If she does well with that transition tomorrows goal is to wean her off of the ventilator.

Wait there is more. The chest tube that was placed in during Friday's surgery has already been removed today. Later today they will be removing her central line and catheter. She will get a pic line in place of the central line. This is amazing news just Friday we were down to two options. Today we are dancing for joy.

Kinsley is still very sick and will have a long road of recovery ahead of her. Please continue to pray for her to respond well to today's transitions so that maybe tomorrow she may get that mean old vent out.

Thank you everyone for all of your support it has been greatly appreciated.

Long awaited update.

Day twenty with sweet Kinsley in the hospital.

A huge shout out to her support group. All the prayer warriors and good health vibes, thank you.

At our last praise report, Kinsley was being weaned down from her medications so that she could be taken off the vent. Unfortunately, Kinsley's had a few setbacks as well as steps forward since our last post.

Kinsley was taken off the vent on Tuesday, June 6th. She had difficulty keeping her airways open. Sadly, Miss Kinsley had to be placed back on the ventilator. She had a rough night. The next day, an MRI of her brain and heart were ordered to make sure infection hadn't spread to those areas. She rested as we all waited.

On June 9th, MRI results came in. The infection had not spread to her heart or lungs. Kinsley had rested pretty well over the last two days but had spiked a fever, so a PET scan was ordered. Praise God, it came back clear as well.

Next step was to try weaning her down off the ventilator again. She began having trouble breathing even being vented. The doctors ordered a chest x-ray to see what was going on. Results came in, and her precious right lung, the one that has taken the most blunt damage from this sickness, was completely white.

What does this mean. They look for it to be black with any white showing up as an infection. Her lung was fully covered. At this point, the physician ordered her ventilator settings to be cut up, where she would take longer, deeper breaths. After the first four hours, she showed major improvement. Thank you, our heavenly Father.

Day sixteen in the hospital, they attempted again weaning down Kinsley's vent, but she wasn't doing well with it. A Bronchoscopy was ordered for the following day.

Discouraging. How could this be? Why? No! No, we can't lose hope. We can't lose faith. On our knees, we went and did more praying.

She rested throughout the day, and later that night her, her parents and all those who loved her were blessed with the perfect combination of pain and sedation medication for the first time in over two weeks.

Sweet, Kinsley opened her eyes.

Hello everyone. I've missed seeing all of you. I could hear you, and I love you too. She face timed a few loved ones, and back to rest, it was. Oh gosh, that moment was precious and priceless. AGAIN PRAISE YOU AND THANK YOU GOD!

The next day, she continued rest, and her parents were able to hold her for the first time.

Over the course of the last couple of days, Kinsley has rested well and has been weaned down on medication and sedation. Today, day twenty, they will attempt cutting the ventilator off and getting it out.

I come to you again as humble as I can be and ask that everyone please pray for our sweet angel on earth that day twenty be her blessed day she be able to breathe on her own again.

Big hugs and lots if love to you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Wow.... how amazing!
A miracle. Look at that beautiful smile.

At the last update, they were getting Kinsley off the vent. Everything went well. She's had a couple of days of rest and oxygen treatment.
Kinsley Faith with God's grace and mercy is as the doctors call it "out of the woods."
Praise God

Twenty-three days in the hospital, away from home and more to go. But on a downhill slop from here. Healing and moving in the right direction to coming home.

There were several times we hit the floor in prayer. Praying God's will but asking for mercy on this sweet baby. A roller coaster of emotions. Hope built, then attempted to be shattered with setback. There was a moment of fear that she was tired. Fear that she wasn't progressing. Times where it felt like the devil himself stood in that room and tried to rip away our faith.

A young family, the devil, thought he could take over and win.

No, not this time, Satan. This young family, along with their extended family, loved ones, and friends, had to hold faith. Learn to give to God and allow his will to be done with no questions asked. Not allow the enemy to break us or our bond to God.

The prayer on a religious end is that we as a family, the loved ones, friends, and anyone following Kinsley's story that needed to have their faith shaken a little as a reminder, didn't believe in the glory and power of prayer, or maybe lacked belief in God at all, that this of drawn us all closer to him. Given us hope and a little faith that there is a bigger power in him.

Kinsley has progressed each day.

She has rested well and has a long road ahead. Kinsley's fighter. Thank you for all your prayers, encouragement, and support. Each of you are greatly appreciated. A a larger scale than we could ever express.

Please hold your family tight. And your faith even tighter.
