Sweet Cobain's Surgery
Donation protected
On Saturday 8/28/15 I was drawn to a local rescue by 2 adorable German Shepherds that "had slight bowing in their leg". I got there within an hour of seeing the 2 precious babies!! One had already been adopted and the other, luckily, was still there. With out hesitation we filled out the application to bring him home! When I asked about the leg I was told "it's a slight bow that can't be fixed". So we bring our sweet Cobain home and on Monday we take him to the vet with our 1-year-old GS and the vet suggests we take him to an orthopedic she thinks the issue is more than I was told! So I do this, not knowing that he did have X-rays taken while with the rescue. $700 later we find out he has 2 major deformities in his radius, a small deformity in his ulna, and a fracture that was never treated. This is the worst the surgeon has seen. He was supposed to have his first surgery this week. Found out today that the insurance will not cover the surgery at all and it is nearly $5000. We are going for a 2nd opinion and possibly a 3rd. We need to make the right choice for Cobain to live a full life and us not to end up in the poor house. My poor puppy! He is the sweetest puppy so full of life! I am heartbroken over this!! And sending him back so he can be put down for not being "perfect" is NOT an option. He is here to stay!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
