Sweet Souls TNR Fund
On 12/7/20, Sweet Souls was able to trap Mama Evie. We thought she was pregnant and planned to foster her until she had her kittens and weaned them. She was kept warm, fed and safe. Well, after a month we are seeing that she is not pregnant after all. She just has sagging mammaries from her past pregnancies. We understand, Evie, we understand.
So, now we are in the process of getting her spayed so she can get back out to keeping our streets mouse and rat free. She and her other companions that live on our streets in Castaic help our little ecosystem. They serve a great purpose. Sweet Souls plans to spay and vaccinate our feline community and will watch over them to keep them healthy.
We are new to this but have been certified Trap Neuter Return (TNR) and are working toward a non-profit status. Until then, we are asking our friends that agree with this need to help us pay for the upcoming spays. We currently know of 2 (including Evie) that we know are in need of a spay.
In addition, we are building cat houses to place around the neighborhood to keep them safe and warm, when needed.
To all of our neighbors that feed them, DO NOT STOP! They count on you. However, if we are working on trapping one, we will let you know so we can work together to direct them to the trap.
We will only trap if we need to neuter or if we think there is one that needs medical attention. When a cat has been neutered they will have a tipped ear for identification purposes.
