Swim for STROKESTRA

Donation protected
Hello! Thank you for visiting our go fund me page.

Sophie, Phoebe and I have challenged ourselves to swim 10 miles each (30 miles in total) over 10 days in August to raise a contribution towards the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s (RPO) STROKESTRA® project.

Sophie and Phoebe thoroughly enjoying spending time singing, playing the Cello and Violin (and we enjoy listening!). They are passionate about making music, and we recently heard about STROKESTRA®.

STROKESTRA® is a pioneering stroke rehabilitation programme that harnesses the power of group creative music-making alongside professional musicians and clinicians to drive patient-led recovery in stroke patients and their carers.

The project has run a very successful pilot programme and is currently providing face to face programmes in Hull.

Although online sessions are accessible to all, we are sure you’ll agree, the more areas in which the programmes can run, the better outcomes will be for Stroke survivors and their carers.

Stroke strikes every 5 minutes in the UK. With over 100,000 victims a year, this affects most UK families, sadly including our own. Subsequently, over 1 million people across the UK are rebuilding their lives after stroke.

By supporting our efforts it will help the RPO’s STROKESTRA® programme get the attention it deserves and ensure the expansion of their innovative work, improving Stroke rehabilitation across the UK and beyond.

We are truly grateful for your support and any donations big or small.

Thank you so much,

Milly, Sophie and Phoebe x
