Swimathon for the MIND charity and club funds
Don protégé
Hi,
We are the Royal Holloway University of London swimming club and this term we have decided to swim a half marathon to raise money for our chosen charity as well as funds for the club. We have decided to do this as a 75:25 split.
75% of the money raised will go to the MIND charity as we have decided as a club our aim this year is to show more light to body positivity and how we can raise awareness as a club.
As we all know swimming is a sport where our kit is pretty minimal and for some people this creates body dysmorphia and as a result troubles mental health.
Even though 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, most of us don’t get the help we need.
This has to change!
Mind is a charity that works with young people to fight for mental health and offer support in anyway they can. This is why we have chosen them as our charity for this fundraiser.
Later on this year we want to do more activities surrounding body positivity and get RHUL swimming really involved!
The other 25% of funds raised will go towards club maintenance. This includes transport to and from the club and pool hire as with rising costs we want to keep membership as low as we can to make swimming accessible for all!
Please help us towards our goal with any donations you can, a small donation can go a long way if we all get involved!
Thank you from all of us here at RHUL swimming :)
