Supporting Doctors to Rebuild and Reunit with Their Families

Hello everyone.

We are Dr Rashad Dallol and Dr Alaa Matar from Gaza. We are taking this opportunity to share with you our story, mission and ambitions. We have such big dreams and hopes which cannot be accomplished without your help and support. How we ended up in this messed up situation: Before the conflict, we lived together with my beloved in-laws in a beautiful home. Our children were deeply attached to them, and our family was a tight-knit unit filled with love and happiness. Due to the war, we have been separated. My parents' grandparents are stranded in the north, suffering from hunger, illness, and the constant threat to their lives. Over the past six months we have lost our home, clinic, belongings and friends. We ended up displaced several times first from Gaza to the Middle Zone, then to Rafah, followed by going to Deir Al Balah . We lost friends, family and loved ones while on this miserable and sad journey. Despite everything we lost, we never lost our hope. Our belief in humanity and a better future was never shaken. On the other end, Dr Alaa as a family doctor she started providing her medical services at a field medical tent in the Middle Zone. She would care for hundreds of patients daily treating them, and helping them. She saved the lives of many young children with serious infectious diseases. As a young female doctor, she put her efforts on women health and wellbeing. She provided care for women in desperate need of medical advice in these difficult times. " Why we need your help: I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to bring my family out of Gaza so we can reunite and rebuild our lives together, creating a beautiful future once more. Your support will help us cover their evacuation costs, reunite our family, and start anew by paying off the debts we incurred during these difficult times. We need your help in raising enough funds to cover our exit permits, pay for our expenses and rentals in Egypt ($2000 USD a month) while awaiting the processing of our paperwork to recognize our medical certificates which could take up to a year, register in a training program to get board certified in our specialities. To cover all these costs and the loan, we set our fundraiser goal at $60,000 USD. Your generosity will mean the world to us as we strive to bring back the warmth and stability we once cherished.
