Christina’s medical bills
On February 3rd Christina Wood was sitting at dinner with her boyfriend when she went into cardiac arrest, and her heart completely stopped.
Thankfully, there happened to be a nurse sitting next to them who immediately jumped into action. With the help of her family, she performed CPR, and monitored her heart with an Apple Watch for 20 minutes until paramedics arrived to shock her back to life on the restaurant floor.
She was intubated in medical ICU for 3 days then transferred to a regular room where she is still in recovery. The doctors discovered she has irregular heart rhythms- a congenital or hereditary condition- that was not diagnosed and led her into cardiac arrest.
On February 12th doctors had to implant a device similar to a pacemaker, called an ICD that will prevent her heart from stopping again. We are forever grateful and in awe that she survived this incident that would have been tragic without nurses near by.
This is the beginning of a long road to recovery, and a life altering condition for Christina physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.
The medical bills are already outrageous and will continue to pile up. Any amount is extremely helpful in getting Christina closer to a healthy and stable life with her five year old daughter, Chloe.
We understand not everyone has the financial capacity, and ask that you keep Christina and her family in your thoughts and prayers!
thank you!
