Embryo Adoption

A warm hello to all of our family and friends. Many of you may be unaware of our current situation, but we have decided to set up a go-fund-me account, and want to invite any of you who may want to help us out financially the opportunity to do so. Our reason for this is fairly straightforward. We are unable to have our own children, but would still like very much to become adoptive parents. In leu of this, we have been working for the past several months with an organization called Embryo Connections, and it is our sincerest hope that we may be able to become parents through the process of what's called embryo donation.

For those who may not be familiar with what this entails, in a nut shell it is adopting the remaining embryos from another couple who went through IVF and have completed their family. These remaining embryos are often referred to as "snowflake" babies. Many embryos remain unused and ultimately thawed and discarded, or used for scientific purposes. Alternatively, adopting an embryo would provide an opportunity for that baby to grow in a womb, instead of being left unused, or never given the chance to live. It would also allow Heidi the opportunity to physically carry and deliver the baby - and that would mean more to us than words can express.

Some of the expenses involved in the process are the application cost, the adoption mediation and  legal fees, various medications, lab fees, medical tests such as ultrasounds, and the embryo transfer itself. These costs can total up to $20,000.
