Sydney & Abigail's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Last Saturday(7/14/18) my precious cousin, Sydney Doremus and her sweet friend Abigail Hiers went to Savannah River with my son Cade Cope(Sydney's cousin), Michael Googe and Tristan Mole for a fun day on the river. While they were on the sandbar they met a man with a speed boat who told the boys he was working on some props to see which one would go the fastest. He also said he only had the boat a couple months and it could get out of hand very easily. The kids hung out on the sandbar and watched as the guy flew up and down the river in his speed boat. After a few hours they decided to get ready to pack up and go home. The girls were standing in the water as the guys were packing up and out of nowhere the speedboat ran the girls over. The speedboat came up on the sandbar and left. Leaving these severely injured girls to die. With God's great mercy, the boys performed miracles and loaded their lifeless bodies into their Johnboat and then to their truck and frantically took them to Allendale County Hospital where they were then airlifted to Augusta. Sydney almost lost her leg and had to receive 7 units of blood. Her injury was severe and the doctors are still trying to figure out how to treat her with physical therapy. The family was told they have never had an injury like this. Abigail's had facial reconstruction on yesterday(7/20/18)After 9 hours of surgery she is now on ventilator in the shock trauma unit. All monies raised will go to the families of the girls to help with travel, gas , food, lodging,etc..... These girls have a long road to recovery and any little bit will help. Thank you again for all the love and support. May God Bless You All
