Sydney to Bathurst Ride for Homelessness 2023
One of my bucket list items is to do a big bike ride and a few years back I had a great idea to ride to Bathurst and back over the Blue Mountains. Pandemic happened but finally in April 2023 I am going to do it! (Before I can’t do it!).
The ride will be about 200km and 3800m one way, 200km and 2800m back, so return it’s 400km over the Blue Mountains both sides. It will take me 2 days to complete. I will have a support vehicle thankfully.
I thought, maybe I can do something for charity at the same time? This would give me some incentive when the going gets tough. So while looking for accomodation in Bathurst it occurred to me that we take for granted the fact that we have a warm bed and safe housing because shockingly there are many Aussies out there who don’t have this very basic necessity. It’s sad that even in such a fortunate country as Australia we still have a homeless problem. As the colder months start to approach I shudder at the thought of having to rough it out every night, not knowing where my next warm bed will be or my next warm meal with be.
So do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Mission Australia and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
