Sydney's Bat Mitzvah Project - Run for Wonderland

Dear Friends and Family:
I am writing to ask for your help with my bat mitzvah project. In English, the Hebrew word mitzvah means a good deed done from religious duty. I thought about ideas for this for a long while and came up with what I felt would help others and be most meaningful to me.
Running and going to camp are two passions of mine. I have always loved running since I was a little kid and began to run for exercise when there was nothing else to do when COVID-19 hit. Because I wasn’t going to camp last summer due to the pandemic, running was one of the few activities I could do. I thought this was a great way to be outside and be active, which is also one of the things I love about camp.
Since I was 5 years old, I’ve always gone to camp, and in the last few years I have gone to overnight camp at Camp Tel Noar in New Hampshire. It is so much fun to be away from home, with friends doing fun activities. I decided to combine the two - running and camp - for my mitzvah project. I would like to help Camp Wonderland in Sharon, Massachusetts.
Camp Wonderland is owned by the Salvation Army and provides a low cost overnight camp experience for children who would otherwise not be able to attend summer camp. In order to raise money, please consider donating $0.25 for every mile that I run between now and my bat mitzvah on June 26th. My goal is to run 40 miles. With the money I raise, I will buy needed supplies and donate the rest to the camp to use as they wish.
