Sylvia Trevino's Life Saving Kidney Treatment
Early in our vacation -July 11th- in San Antonio, our mom was taken into the ER. After several exams were conducted by doctors, we were told that she had kidney failure. After couple of days doctors advised us that she would not be leaving the Methodist Hospital Metropolitan soon. She has had a nephrostomy procedure to attempt to drain kidneys and attempt to get kidneys functioning. Sadly the kidneys did not function. She has received 2 blood transfusions due to her low blood count because of her anemia and is currently undergoing dialysis to clean her blood. At the moment doctors are still monitoring her in order to make a decision on whether dialysis is temporary or permanent, and whether they will remove both kidneys or not. A kidney transplant is something our family has been discussing but has not been confirmed. Currently, our family (her husband, her mother and kids) is staying at a nearby hotel for as long as needed. Food, and stay costs are expensive here in town. We are asking for help with these costs and are starting off at this goal point. Our goal may change depending on bills and circumstances. We ask the community for support and prayers during these hard times, anything helps. Thank you all
