Symantha is an outstanding high school senior, who is excited about her college adventure into Computer Engineering with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Symantha's interest in engineering began in Girl Scouts which led her to participate in other STEM programs/organizations such as the National Society for Black Engineers Jr. (NSBEjr), Texas Alliance for Minority Engineers and STEM Goes Red.
Over the years, Symantha has actively participated in many mentoring and leadership programs including the National Honor Society, Byron P. Steele Marching Band, Cherice Cochrane Mentoring Foundation, Top Teen of America, 4-H Club, Rifle and Shooting Club, Lyndon B. Johnson Youth Presidential Leadership Council, Black Girls Lead Conference, and American Legion Auxiliary Girl Nation: Texas Bluebonnet Girl State all while maintaining a 4.0 in advance studies in school.
In addition to these activities, she has received many awards throughout high school: Amazing Teen Award, Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Ms. Lone Star Amazing Teen Award, San Antonio Amazing Teen Icon Award, NAACP Youth Image Award, San Antonio Youth Achiever Award, Girl Scout Silver Award, and Nominated for Volunteer of the Year (United Way).
Currently, Symantha is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. She intends to assist students with making the best possible choices by accessing resources and knowledge of influential leaders and successful professionals to bridge connections to lower and middle class students. Her emphases are college/career preparations, humanistic motivation, financial responsibility, student -to- student networking and mentorships. The 3E Project: Educate Explore Excel
She currently serves as the Co-Chair for Ex-Officio Girl Scout Girl Board for the Southwest Council.
Symantha has big dreams to start her journey this fall (Class of 2022) to an university that is aligned with her goal to achieve a degree in Computer Engineer with a concentration in AI.
