Move Our Bar: A Syndicate Construction Story

Donation protected

Thank you, Beaverton for all the support you have shown us for the past 4 years. Not only did you believe in us when we were a new business starting out, but you rallied behind us as we navigated COVID and tried something new with outdoor dining. We invested our life savings into creating what you see today.

Now we have come to a point where we are in an emergency situation, and we need your help. We are currently underway with the necessary construction to fix long-standing issues from our build-out. These issues are the direct result of the architect mismeasuring and the contractor placing our bar incorrectly, not allowing the use of any chairs while also having an ADA ramp for the backdoor. This long-standing disagreement between the architect and contractor has resulted in us fixing all their mistakes.

The City of Beaverton has been patiently trying to help us creatively find different solutions, but it’s come down to only one. We have to “Move the Bar”. If you come by Syndicate Beaverton, you will see that the required ADA ramp has been built to meet the required deadlines of the City, leaving us no open bar seating. Bar seating was always where guests gathered first.

Repairs and modifications are necessary, but we are simply coming up short with funds or financing to “Move the Bar”. Our “new” architect has come up with a design that with 24 inches, we can be back to operation as normal. This will require changes in structural, plumbing, electrical, and finishes. We now have a competent and professional team, but alas funding for this required change is falling short.

We need your help to get Syndicate to a point of completion. We welcome any donation amount and appreciate your support. For donations of $150 or more, we will laser burn a wooden sponsor plank for you, featured in the main Syndicate dining area. They’re a great way to memorialize a loved one or pet, or promote your business. It’s become a fun part of telling the story, that Syndicate is a community wine bar, built by the community.

Funds will be used for the following required changes as dictated by the City:
  • Removal of side patio
  • Addition of ADA parking
  • 4 walled fence around our dumpsters (landlord has offered to pay for)
  • Installing bike parking (bike racks donated)
  • Moving the 20 foot custom-built bar 2 feet to allow for bar seating once again (which will include structural, electrical, plumbing, and finishes all to be moved)

Thank you from the bottoms of our heart.
