The Syracuse DSA Mutual Aid Committee is building another round of 150 Covid Safety Kits to keep Syracuse safe during the coronavirus pandemic.The goal of these kits is to share knowledge and some of the resources to keep our community safe as we continue to weather the current pandemic.
More employers are calling their employees back to work every day. Many never shut down but operated with limited in-house capacities, expansion of take out/delivery services, or having workers doing full or part time remote work from home. All workers showing up to their workplaces are at increased risk of exposure due to little support or guidance from the state and are often required to provide PPE for themselves. Along with these kits we call to support all workers demanding safer working conditions and stand in solidarity with those organizing to gain those demands and more.
What is in the Worker’s Covid Safety Kit?
-2 kn95 masks (black)
-1, 2oz. Bottle of hand sanitizer
-6 steramine sanitizer tablets (msds and label information included)
-Syracuse 911 Alternatives Fact Sheet (put together by the mutual aid committee)
-”We Keep Us Safe” A zine on staying safe during the pandemic, information about COVID-19, and other related struggles.
Where exactly is the money going?
Included in the fundraising goal is the 150 individual Worker’s Covid Safety Kits, which can be requested at the linked website at the bottom, as well as the necessary PPE for volunteers so they can safely put together and drop off the requested kits.
