Speak Your Truth Worldwide Fundraiser

Hello friends, family, entertainers, and our beloved dance communities all over the world..

On August 20th, 2020 two dancers from the Los Angeles community took a leap of faith by coming forward  and speaking their truths on their experiences performing for a major dance company based out of Los Angeles and The Bay Area. Within 24 hours after coming forward, they received 300 + direct messages of victims also coming forward with their stories and experiences. To this day, the messages have not stopped. These victims shared their encounters with MANY different forms of abuse in MANY different communities, not just in dance but in the entertainment world as a whole.

Cierra Lauren was one of the two women who came forward and she says,
"Seeing all those messages made me quickly realize that this was a deep rooted issue that has been infecting our dance communities for decades. What's almost worse was the people who were coming to me from outside the dance community asking if it was ok for them to share their traumatic experience with me. They were aspiring actors and actresses, dj's, musicians, producers, and script writers. People from all over the entertainment industry simply just want someone to HEAR them. Someone who, even if they do nothing about it, will just listen.  I was more than willing to be an ear for them. Not to fix them, but to simply go to the dark place with them and let them know, they're gonna be ok. I also let them know that I wanted to do something to help prevent another person becoming a victim." Cierra started to get to work fast, her mother asked her, "Why don't you just start a non-profit", so the next day, she did.

As of September 8th 2020 Cierra received her Articles of Incorporation to Speak Your Truth Worldwide from the secretary of state as a non-profit corporation.

Cierra built a small, trustworthy, and honorable team to help her in this non-profit, this movement. Lexi Bustos is one of those honorable people she chose. She was also the other dancer who originally came forward with Cierra on her live and on that day,  SYTW was born with no intention of it being born.

So now, their journey begins. And like every non-profit, they need help raising money to start changing this community, this industry, this world for the better.

SYTW will be raising awareness of abuse that occurs within the tv/film, music, and dance industries in a solution-minded way. SYTW will serve as an open-platform for victims of abuse to come forward and share their traumatic experiences privately or publicly. Victims will have the option to remain anonymous or not and they will have full control of how THEY would like to move forward once their report/experience is submitted. Some of the resources being offered free of charge are several different forms of professional therapy that will help the victim begin their healing process once and for all.

Cierra says, "SYTW is here to listen, support, and DIRECT.  We are not medical professionals just good people who want to do the right thing for the people who need us most. As victims ourselves, we understand that 'the system' was not built for people like us, with our difficult experiences. We want to give people an option to get their justice by getting their power back. We want to help guide you into healing so you can finally move forward. Whatever YOU need we will do our best to provide. This is only the beginning of a MAJOR solution to a DEEP problem. It's gonna take one day at a time and hopefully, one day, it will end."

Their 5 year goal is to open up the platform to ALL areas and people in the entertainment world. 10 year goal is to open this up to all victims of abuse no matter where you come from. Once they feel they have built a strong enough system to take in the influx of stories that will come of opening it up so widely, they will be excited to announce.

Please join us in helping them raise a start-up goal of $3,000! If we exceed, then we exceed, every dollar helps towards REAL CHANGE.
