Ezra's Top Surgery Fund

Hey there, my name is Ez!
I'm a trans guy living in New York, and I'm trying to save up to get top surgery. I'm fortunate that my insurance covers HRT and therapy, but will not cover any part of gender-confirming surgery since it is not considered a medical necessity. As someone living with chronic pain though, I disagree completely - I have severe back pain that is exacerbated by wearing a binder, as well as the degree to which I subconsciously slouch in an attempt to minimize my chest. (Not something I want to do, I don't even realize I'm doing it!) Very often I have to choose between binding even though it's painful, or terrible dysphoria.
I am saving up money for this surgery on my own, but rent and bills take up a huge chunk of my income, and as I'm disabled I can really only freelance from home. I'm working to up my income by doing voiceover work, but at the rate things are going, it'll be years before I can think about surgery.
I'm a candidate for periareolar surgery, which is great! That means minimal scarring with a very natural end result, and quite possibly a faster and easier recovery. But unfortunately it's a little more expensive than other methods. I'm lucky to be only three hours away from one of the best surgeons in the world for the type of procedure I need. My fundraising goal is strictly for the cost of surgery, which by itself is estimated at $9,700.
I don't currently have any plans to have lower surgery, so this is the last stop for me in my transition. I won't have to worry about planning my outings around my ability to bind, or about people seeing my binder under my clothes. I'll be able to sleep shirtless - and honestly good luck getting me to ever wear a shirt again! I'm going to be insufferable!
Thank you so much for your support - It will literally change my life!
