Samantha Szura's Medical Bills
Donation protected
On July 5, 2015, 16-month-old Samantha Szura suffered a near-drowning accident in her grandparents’ pool in Essexville, MI. She was given CPR by her grandmother and revived with help from medical personnel. She was airlifted to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, where she began her long road to recovery.
Now, almost 2 months later, Samantha is at the University of Michigan Hospital’s Pediatric Inpatient Rehab. She has shown some signs of progress, but her doctors don’t expect her to ever walk or talk again. She is currently working on oral-motor control and holding her head up.
As you can imagine, the family’s medical bills are astronomical and her parents (Carrie Weiler, Essexville, and Steve Szura, Garden City) can use all the help they can get. The doctors say Samantha will be able to go home sometime in September, but she will require at-home care for the rest of her life. Samantha and her family do not qualify for Medicaid or disability.
Please donate what you can to help the Weiler/Szura family in their long journey.
