A father who was raising three children in their home in Northwest Baltimore is the city's 295th homicide victim. The family believes his fight against drug dealers may have cost him his life.
There was no one at the home Tuesday night, only candles and balloons in memory of Kendal Fenwick. Family members call Fenwick a hard-working 24-year-old man who was raising his three children.
The shooting happened Monday night at about 6:30 p.m. outside Fenwick's home on Park Heights Avenue. Investigators believe he was targeted.
Police say Fenwick put up fences to prevent drug dealers from going back and forth through his yard. Dominique Jarvis told FOX45 the children ran for cover during the shooting. She's pleading now for answers, in this murder that's left her two children without a father.
"My babies are left without their dad," says Jarvis through tears. "And all my son keeps saying is, 'Why do they have guns?,' like he wish it never happened."
