Help Ali's Family Escape the Tragedy in Gaza Hello, my name is Ali Helles, and I am 26 years old. I currently reside in Egypt, having left Gaza six years ago in search of a better future. My departure from Gaza was not just a personal quest for stability; it was a desperate escape from a life marred by three major wars and countless smaller escalations. Yet, while I found refuge, my family remains trapped in a dire situation in Gaza. On October 7th, the fragile semblance of normalcy that my family clung to was shattered. They were forced to evacuate our home, embarking on a harrowing journey of suffering that still shows no signs of ending. Over the past months, they have been driven from place to place, seeking safety only to be met with constant danger. To date, they have been forced to evacuate more than seven times. Now, they find themselves in a makeshift tent in Dair Al-Balah, exposed to the relentless sun and walking miles just to find drinkable water. The war has taken more than just our home. It has obliterated our entire neighborhood, erasing the physical spaces of our childhood memories and dreams. We have lost everything we once knew and loved. The pain of these losses is compounded by the grief of losing my cousin, Khaiser, and the anguish of knowing my brother, Mohammad, is severely injured with limited access to medical care. I am launching this GoFundMe campaign with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit. I am determined to bring my family to safety here in Egypt, where we can begin to rebuild our lives.
