Breast Cancer Research

Hi I’m Jacinta and I am hoping to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research.

In May 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 46 with no family history.

While I went through the tests to identify the type of breast cancer and the stage it was at all I could think of was please give me more time, I have two young kids, a husband and friends and family that I’m not ready to leave.

The relief I felt at my prognosis that my cancer was treatable was immense. I am so grateful that so much is now known about breast cancer which is thanks to the research that has been done to date but so much more research is needed.

Many women still die from breast cancer, it can return even after a successful initial treatment and it can spread (metastasis) which in most cases can’t be cured. Unfortunately my younger sister-in-law lost her battle this year following the spread of her cancer, she got so little time.

I am running/walking the Dingle Half marathon on Saturday 7th September 2024 and I would be so grateful if you can donate anything at all to my fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute to give anyone diagnosed with breast cancer hope, time and quality of life.
