Our dear friend and colleague Rahul was diagnosed with testicular cancer after finding a lump last month. At the time he was working on a full rota of shifts as a hospital respiratory specialist treating patients with, and without, COVID-19 in the NHS. On top of this Rahul is a father of a two year old daughter and his wife is also an NHS Doctor – despite all these strains he received this diagnosis with inspirational levels of positivity and good humour.
Rahul is known across the hospital as a supportive, kind and extremely good humoured colleague (though we are all tired of his dad jokes!) and universally credited as great doctor by his colleagues and patients alike.
He has been eager to come back to work but has been held back while he awaits the completion of his treatment. In his absence, we would like to raise as much money as we can to support charities that work to raise awareness for testicular cancer and men’s health. We plan to do this by collectively running/walking/cycling the distance covered in runs during the last Cricket World Cup (twice!).
Any gifts, large or small, for this important cause would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you.
