T-41 Air Force Trainer Restoration (Cessna 172F)

Tax deductible
The Air and Space Education Institute is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for middle and high school students in the field of aerospace. We provide our students with a vision and a head-start on their preferred aerospace profession:
  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Aerospace Manufacturing
  • Space Systems Engineering
  • Flight and Operations
  • Aircraft Maintenance Technology

Our high school students along with our partner ATS (Aircraft Maintenance Company) are restoring the first T-41 training aircraft (N5100F) that was manufactured for the US Air Force in 1964.

We have several projects that we would like to fund to get this aircraft back into the air.
  • Continental O-300-D engine overhaul (Poplar Grove Airmotive)
  • Airframe repairs
  • Panel restoration and upgrades
We plan to restore this aircraft and display it at various locations including the Warbirds area of Airventure in 2024. Our students, while working with ATS, will log apprentice hours on the project that will apply toward their A&P Maintenance Certificate.
