Nepal's Relief: A Story of Good

Donation protected
What happens after a disaster when the world moves on?

The Earthquake in Nepal was the largest and most devastating in the country's history. Thousands are dead, hundreds of thousands are homeless, and an epidemic of communicable diseases may be just around the corner due the upcoming monsoon season.

If Nepal is to grow, change and rebuild then what must first happen is for us to see the country as it really is. To see the beauty amid the wreckage, to understand the resilence of the people in the face of turmoil.

The only way a country comes back together after disaster is with love and hope.

This documentary is to be the story of the people who inspire us in Nepal. It is our belief that if we show you everything you will choose to visit this wonderful country on your own, not only to give but also to recieve. We believe that what the country needs now is not just aid but sustanability and self-sufficiency.

My name is Dr. Nikhil Joshi. I'm known in Canada as the star of the 'Dr. C' program on CBC Radio. I've visited Nepal yearly for 7 years, missing only once as I had cancer. Now I seek to return to my home away from home, to document and tell the stories of the people who love Nepal and bring to you their struggles and triumph as they seek to rebuild.

In terms of donations we are looking for largely corporate donations.

We do not want your money if you have a mortgage or student debt. We recognize that there are many worthy charities doing laudable work in Nepal right now. Our goals are different than most NGO's and aid agencies.

We want to create a narrative that will empower Nepal, as well as honour its citizens and visitors who love the country and strive for the betterment of its people.

And even if you can't donate, we're just happy to have your love and support and encourage you to see the country for yourself when the time is right.
