Help Flocon Get Better

Hi everyone,

I'm Anna, and I'm launching this campaign for my BFF and soulmate Jess, who is currently facing a scary and expensive health issue with her beloved puppy Flocon. It's no exaggeration to say that Flocon has been Jess's service animal over the years; he has been her little guardian angel as she has gone through a series of her own health challenges and come out the other side healthier than ever. Flocon has not been without his own share of health challenges over the years, racking up some expensive bills that Jess and Rabih have paid for without a second thought. This time is different. It's so disheartening that our medical care for humans in this country is so much more accessible than medical care for animals -- it adds yet another weight to the stress of dealing with a sick fur baby. I'm hoping that you can help me alleviate some of that financial burden so that Jess can focus solely on helping her sweet fur baby get better.

About a week ago, Jess and Rabih came home to find that Flocon's back legs weren't working properly; it seems he injured himself somehow while they were out. It's so distressing to see our furry family members in pain without their being able to tell us what is hurting them. Flocon has since been in and out of emergency as the vets tried various treatments to get him back on his feet. As if this situation were not already stressful enough, his recovery has been complicated by the fact that he contracted kennel cough from his stay in emergency, an infection that he is still recovering from.

In the meantime, the vet confirmed that Flocon is suffering from some kind of neurological issue with his spine. As of October 19, the medical team has now estimated that the cost of the MRI will be $7,000, and with the surgery, the total costs will amount to between $11,000 and $14,000. In any case, Flocon will need serious treatment to help him regain control of his back legs and return to his sweet, rambunctious self. Pet insurance will not cover the costs of treatment, as they deem it a preexisting condition. I know that things are tight for a lot of us right now, but I know that Jess and Rabih would appreciate anything that you can offer.
