Help Catalina

Catalina 11 Years Old is a very loving, high energy child, who has experienced a great deal of pain over the past two weeks. Her story began with a trip to the ER with complaints of a very painful knee, after suffering an injury at summer camp. They began to run tests and try to determine what was causing the pain. She was then placed in patient at the local hospital. It was discovered that while she was having the time of her life at camp she had managed to acquire a very serious host of infections. This caused high levels that came back, which resulted in a kidney infection and UTI. The doctors wanted to look deeper into this which would require many tests, surgeries and multiple blood draws. It was finally determined the root cause of these extremely elevated infection levels were being caused from MRSA in the knee, that was caused from osteomyelitis. She has multiple surgeries, and is still in the hospital with fevers! Catalina’s mom has stayed every bit of the last 9 days with her in the hospital, and her father travels daily to see them both. When Catalina is able to go home she will be sent with a pic line, which will require home treatment, in home health care nurses, therapy, several trips back and forth to Cleveland! As you can imagine this has taken a toll on her parents with looming medical bills, cost of other necessities such as medical supplies for Catalina, food travel, parking, and several other needed items for Catalina that the hospital does not provide.
