Bring Julian Home!

My name is Nicole Osborne - I’m an art teacher who had the privilege of teaching Julian Amoako when he was a middle schooler at White Oak MS in Montgomery County, MD. Julian is a bright, courageous, and incredibly beautiful person. He has suffered immensely at the hands of his family, particularly his parents, due to their deeply rooted homophobia. Despite attempts to connect with CPS to remove him from his dangerous situation, Julian was forced to move abroad with his mother, eventually landing in his father’s home country of Ghana. Julian was left behind with family members he had never met - both of his parents returned to the United States. Julian has struggled with this upheaval for almost four years now, battling emotional and psychological manipulation alongside depression and anxiety. Now that Julian is 18, he is working hard to return to the United States to pursue his dreams of becoming a Psychologist or Social Worker. His family is completely unsupportive, have taken his personal documents, including his passport, and refuse to return the documents needed for his travel home. He has no money and limited internet access, but is determined to find his way home to begin classes at Montgomery Community College. Julian’s previous GoFundMe funds were stolen by his mother who refuses access to the money to help him return home. Myself and Team Julian are working together to coordinate his travel home and we hope that you can contribute to his cause!
