Support the Revival of Haunted Haven

As I’m sure everyone knows on 5/20/2024 Haunted Haven burned down, although shaken we are not ready to stop with this devastating loss. We put our all each year into providing an experience for the community and a safe place for our current haunt family and those to follow to do what we all love most. So with that said we are starting a fundraiser to keep the dream going as not only have we seen that this is a loss for the community but the place a lot of people have called home and found their friends and family, has been lost as well. Below are a few of our actors new and old’s words about what the haunt means to them.

Bow aka SideShow - “For 15 years the haunt gave me some place to go where I actually felt like I had a home and a family and losing it has me at an absolute loss for words... before the haunt I felt lost and directionless but at least during haunt season I had a purpose and friends. I never want anyone to feel how I felt before the haunt. The haunt gives the lost and disenfranchised a place to feel like they belong and I would love to see that continue for many more years.”

Nathan - ”I was always one of the "weird kids" going through school and always felt out of place, but when I started at Haunted Haven the year I turned 16 I immediately found a place that I felt welcomed and belonged to. A place where I could be myself and not be judged or bullied. For once in my life I actually felt like a "cool kid" because I worked at a haunted house that so many people love. Being able to dress up all scary and make people scream is absolutely a great part of working at Haunted Haven, but the best part by far is having a place that feels like a second home and a group of people that's like another family.”

Junior - “Haunted Haven has been my home away from home for the last 14 years it's my haunt family I didn't know I needed until I became a part of it and I'm so happy I did. I love each and everyone of them.”

Cameron - “Man, to me, Haunted Haven was a haunt that turned into a home. Leann and I were welcomed with open arms the very first day. It turned into being a place of refuge, it became a place that we felt like we didn’t want to live without, and it gave us a family that will last a lifetime. It may sound funny but it wasn’t a haunted house, it was a haunted home”

Leann - “I’m not a people person. I’m not a social butterfly. I’m not someone who can go somewhere and do something, say something, pretend something that does not come natural to me. It was my biggest flaw that turned into my best attraction. I learned how to be comfortable with people who want to see me grow. I watched a community outshine the weather, the worst of the worst outcomes, and I am extremely thankful to be apart of a group who will crawl there way out of something meant to tear them down. With only one year of haunting experience, which I fought with nothing but inner fear, constant stress and worry of how someone’s going to treat me, go about who I am in a negative form or so on. Haunted Haven is a place for everyone to feel alive. You come in once and you never want to leave. That’s what I did.”

Devin aka Mosh - “I know some people thought of it as a building or as a place I worked, but man was it so much more. I can’t even begin to explain what this place has done for me, it has introduced me to so many new people, made me feel comfortable in my own skin, gifted me with opportunities and skills that I never thought would be possible, this is the first place I told my partner that I loved her. From monster to man in the shower to clown, this place will forever be in our hearts. We all lost so much in that fire, but we did not lose each other we will find somewhere new to haunt.”

With everything our crew and the community out reach has said we want to and will continue to provide a fun and safe space for everyone. Anything helps and all proceeds will go to materials and a new location. Thank you to everyone for their support now and as we rebuild. Please share your own stories of Haunted Haven.
With all this said I’d like to leave you with one last comment from Missy our owner, operator and Mama Spook.

“As I sit here and think of what was my life I'm overcome with an unbearable pain. Not only was this my life, it was crews life too. People both old and new made this their home. Families were built here. Friendships were built here. This was a safe place for so many "misfits" who didn't fit in anywhere else. My crew is morning a deep loss along with myself. I was hoping it was a dream. Now I sit looking at it and it wasn't a dream. It was very real. A very real unbearable pain. This may be the end to this building and memories made here but it's not the end of Haunted Haven. We will rise again. It's been 18 years, but our story isn't over. We now reach out to our loving community for help! We lost everything! Anything will help rebuild. Let's bring Haunted Haven stronger than ever.“
