Help My Mom Recover from a Devastating Assault & Car Theft
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My family is reaching out for support on behalf of my mom, who has been through an incredibly difficult time. She was recently assaulted, and her rental was stolen and severely damaged and the company is having her pay for deductible even when this was not her fault. As a result, she has been unable to work and is now facing overwhelming financial burdens.
She has medical bills from the ambulance and X-rays, along with the cost of towing (which she is trying to fight for thru the rental company) expenses she shouldn’t have to bear alone. Since she drives for Uber as her primary source of income, being without a vehicle has made it impossible for her to work, putting her in an even more difficult position.
To make matters worse, the criminals had access to her address through documents in her car, leaving her feeling unsafe in her own home. She now needs to move as soon as possible, which adds additional costs for a moving truck and storage.
Right now, she needs support to cover:
• Medical bills from the assault
• Towing costs & deductible (which she is trying to fight for!!!)
• Lost income due to being unable to work
• Moving expenses to relocate somewhere safe
Anything you can contribute—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser—would mean the world to us. Your support will help her regain stability and peace of mind after this traumatic experience.
Thank you so much.

I just wanted to share what happened to me early Friday morning because I’m still trying to process it all.
I was on my way home when I got a ride request for a trip that was close to my house. Since it was nearby, I decided to take it, even though I usually don’t drive 18 minutes just to pick someone up. But I did—and when I got there, it turned out to be a four-minute trip.
At the end of the ride, instead of getting out, four young men attacked me. They pistol-whipped me, beat me, and stole my car. It all happened so fast, and honestly, I’m just grateful to be alive. Thankfully, I wasn’t raped or killed, but I’m bruised, sore, and shaken up.
What really gets me is that Uber lets passengers see the driver’s photo before pickup, but we don’t get to see who we’re picking up. So they knew exactly who was coming, but I had no idea what I was walking into.
I’ve spent years making sure people get home safe—helping sailors, college students, and anyone needing a ride so they don’t have to drive under the influence or deal with public transportation late at night. I never imagined I’d end up in this kind of situation myself.
There haven’t been any arrests yet, but if anyone hears anything, please reach out to the North Chicago Police Department. I just want to put this out there so people can be aware and stay safe. I’m beyond thankful to still be here, but it’s been a lot to take in.
Edit. These photos are approximately 40 hours after the incident. What they don’t show are the bruises on my body and the huge knots on my head from the hits taken from the handgun to my skull.
New photo is at 48 hours since incident.
