HOUSE FIRE-HELP NEEDED Lorri & Shelby Riffel
Donation protected
UPDATE: A big thank you to people who have donated to Lorri & Shelby. We are almost halfway there! Unfortunately, the need is more dire than originally anticipated.
Lorri confirmed she could be displaced for up to six months to one year because the townhome attached to her home needs to be demoed before construction can begin. Lorri is a single mom with a single stream of income. This was her first home and she is devasted, not to mention, dealing with the emotions of a teenager just starting the school year without a home.
I know these GoFundMe pages can seem like a nuisance, but it's times like this, when we should come together and lift a friend in need. Every dollar matters!
If you can donate or share to your business, social media, or church, we can reach thousands of people, and give this family some hope and peace of mind.
Thank you!!!

Hi, my name is Jenny and I’ve created this fundraiser as a means to provide support to Lorri and Shelby in a recent tragic event.
On Friday, August 18, 2023, firefighters were called out to the 1800 block of Orinda Court in Thousand Oaks, California for a second-alarm fire.
Unfortunately, Lorri’s townhouse was one of the four affected homes that suffered severe fire, smoke, water and structural damage.
Lorri’s home has been deemed unsafe to occupy, and she has been displaced along with her 13 year old daughter and two Australian Shepherd dogs, Zuma and Jax.
Lorri is temporarily living at a local hotel while her dogs are boarded at a friends house. She needs to secure housing for her and her daughter Shelby, and reunite with her dogs.
Lorri has home insurance, but nothing is paid out until the claim coverage is determined. If approved, the repairs will far exceed what the insurance covers.
As of today, she was told this process could take three months or more before they could have their home back.
Lorri is a kind, generous, and compassionate friend. She is a supportive community member; always giving of her time, talent and service.
Lorri is a single mom who works hard to provide for her 13 year old daughter while instilling a strong work ethic into her daughter’s life. Shelby is a former All Stars softball player, a current Travel Softball player and a straight A student about to enter the 8th grade.
As you can imagine, the cost of hotels, securing housing, replacing clothes and other items is insurmountable. Not to mention continuing to pay a monthly mortgage.
Please help me to raise funds to ease the burden and stress that comes with this unexpected loss, and reunite the family in time for the new school year.
Every dollar raised will be appreciated.
Thank you!
