Alex Jesse Garcia

Hi, my name is Alicia Garcia. My family and I are raising money for my grandpa’s funeral. We are grateful the VA is providing one hour of services and his headstone. All donations will go towards mortuary services, his casket and relocating his body to California. Please take a moment to read my grandpa’s story. We are so grateful you have taken the time to have made it here.

Alex Jesse Garcia was born August 7, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. Alex was a brother, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and a Veteran. Many referred to Alex as “Grandpa”.

Alex was loved by his wife Cynthia, 4 children, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Alex proudly joined the Navy in 1958 at 17 years old and from there began his service to America.

Alex was dedicated and became part of his family legacy of servitude. He later joined the Marine Corp, and finally National Coast Guard. It brought him joy to share stories of all his experiences in the Navy and Marine Corp. Grandpa shared his love to many and made sure you didn’t leave without a smile, a hug and wisdom. We will miss grandpa’s stories, his humor, his stern talks and his love.

Grandpa Alex passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. We would like to honor and celebrate Grandpa in California where his family currently resides. Any contributions will assist with mortuary services, a casket and relocating his body to California so that he can lay at rest with his daughter and other family members.
