Dog Rescue

Our names are Bryan & Karina,

We are being left responsible for six dogs and an unknown number of cats that have been abused and mistreated. As of March 2020, our tenants have been living in our home and not paying their rent, protected by Landlord and Tenant laws. Apart from that they have destroyed our home inside and out.

The worst part about all of this is that they are leaving behind their dogs and cats which were mistreated, and used for illegal breeding and guarding the home.

They finally got a court-ordered eviction date for October 1st, but obviously left their animals in our home. Bryan and I have been working tirelessly, with much help from amazing neighbours, to right this wrong and find refuge for these innocent animals.

Since these dogs have not been taken care of properly, they have become very aggressive and dangerous. This is why we’ve set out a plan to have these dogs rehabilitated so they can be adopted out to forever homes, but unfortunately we cannot afford to cover the costs. We are hoping that members of our community can shed light on this and help save these dogs, and we are so appreciative of everyone that has already!

None of the organizations that are supposed to look out for animal welfare have been willing to help, including the SPCA, PAWS (Provincial Animal Welfare Services), and the Humane Society.

If we cannot raise the money, animal control will come pick up the dogs at our expense by charging us fines and all six dogs will be euthanized without the opportunity to ever live a life they deserve.
