Surgery for Sean

Last year April 2022, Sean was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. He was paralyzed from the bottom part of his chest, down. Most of the home modifications have been completed, it would not have been possible without your donations so thank you! Sean has now developed a life altering cyst (syrinx), from his original T3 where he was paralyzed and runs up to the cervical C1 approaching his brain stem. Sean will require surgery. The only qualified surgeon is Dr. Scott Falci, located in Denver, Colorado. This will require travel with a rented modified handicapped vehicle, with three days of hotel accommodation for Sean, and caregivers. Tests must be run prior to his surgery. Without surgery, Sean may lose the function of his upper body (quadriplegic).

After surgery Sean’s caregivers will return home. He then will remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days. His (family, friends) will then travel to pick him up for the trip home.

In the interim, Sean had been informed that he is being laid off from his current job. Help would be greatly appreciated. He will not be able to function as he should, without this procedure.

Sean’s surgery is scheduled for November 28, 2023.
