Unfortunately, after COVID-19 we were forced to shut down our program. However, we are proud to announce football is back in the Woodlawn community. Our directors and founders Jamaal Morant, Robert Johnson, and Girard Butler got together and created a dynamic program for the young in Baltimore. We have over 200 children in our program that reside all over the State of Maryland. The Woodlawn Secret Society Football and Cheer Association is a program that is focused on community service, uplifting the youth, and giving our children a chance at something better. Our core mission is to implant good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage within the youth in our program. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, fun, family atmosphere for our players, cheerleaders, and families. Our program is not only focused on the sport of football but also building character so that our youth can grow to be productive citizens of society. We focus on education and encouraging our children to pursue higher learning after high school.
This past weekend three of our teams, age groups, 8u, 9u, and 10u won the regional championship that occurred in D.C. We have the opportunity to represent Baltimore at the National Championship in Florida. We will be competing against teams from all over the United States. The cost to get to Florida is very hefty, and we need the assistance of the community to support our youth. I am sending this email in hopes of getting a small segment on the local news so that we can rally the community. We need to let them know of the big things happening in the Woodlawn community.
