Family home lost in a fire
Donation protected
This is Dave Kelbie, writing on behalf of my friend Tcha Limberger who is blind.
I have created this GoFundMe to help my ex-wife Dorka Farkas and our two children Esra and Todor.
At 3am early Sunday morning while they slept a fire broke out in their wooden house which was totally destroyed along with everything they own. Whilst they woke up in time to save themselves nothing else could be saved. Having got Esra out safely Dorka injured herself reentering the house to save the dog and anything else. Sadly it was too late.
In the short term they have lost everything and need day to day help financially and a place to live, which they are receiving thanks to the unbelievable spirit of generosity in the local community.
I believe, along with photos of the burned out house and the now deceased Moki the dog, there is a photo attached of Dorka and Todor with the mayor and the money that has been kindly donated locally.
In the medium to long term though they need to completely build a new house and they have no funds with which to do so. Many friends have asked how they can support so this has led me to set up this fundraising page.
I will naturally contribute all that I can but being a musician my income has obviously dwindled to almost nothing since the beginning of COVID. The house was a traditional wooden frame brick house so in terms of the cost of a rebuild it is not like starting from scratch in Brussels or London. They already have the land on which to build so we think the total cost will be €25000
For those of you who want to contribute locally please contact Dorka here
Thank you so much everyone, they have had a horrifying experience and it is genuinely heart warming for both them and me to receive so many messages of support.
