Genny & Cassidy Fight Breast & Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
We are launching this GoFundMe on behalf of our loved ones, Cassidy and Genny Duran, who are each still fighting their battle with cancer.
Our Tia Genny was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of last year. She has since received surgery and radiation, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Despite multiple treatments, there have been recent findings of high tumor markers with no end in sight.
In addition to her own cancer battle, she has to witness her daughter fight her own cancer. Our cousin Cassidy was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer (Medulloblastoma) in July of last year. She underwent several high-risk brain surgeries and was in the ICU for several weeks. Since her first release from the hospital, she has gone through intense rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and numerous blood and platelet transfusions. Due to Cassidy’s inability to intake any food or water on her own, she has been on an NG tube to receive the necessary nutrients for almost a year. As of recent, she has now been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease as well as risk of permanent issues with her bone marrow.
Both Genny and Cassidy have been in and out of the hospital with no more than a few days between admissions. Regardless of their constant pain, they have always put on a brave face and smile everyday. Our uncle Saul is the sole provider of the family and with his daughter and wife battling cancer, the constant hospital admissions and appointments, and life saving treatments that are not covered by insurance, it has been extremely difficult to keep up with all of the expenses that come along with it such as: gas getting to and from the hospital, medications that insurance doesn’t cover, and all of the food expenses since they are at the hospital unable to cook for themselves.
We are all grateful for any donations/prayers/sharing of Genny and Cassidy’s story. Any contributions will be deeply appreciated, thank you!
