Osteosarcoma (bone cancer)

Dear fellow Roxie/Dog lovers,

We ask that you read and sympathize with our short legged fur baby. She has brought so much happiness into her mothers lives; Jessie and Rachael. And so much joy to those who have been around her!

On February 28th Roxie was in a lot of pain, whining and hopping, keeping the weight off her right leg. She was taken her to Animal hospital of Soquel and found out that she had a torn ACL . While recovering from that, she all of a sudden had a large bump on her right knee.. During her check up, the Veterinarian was extremely concerned and asked to do a check up in a month.

On March 14th the mass has already grown TWICE IN SIZE and WRAPPED around her knee completely! Is is called Osteosarcoma (a very painful and rapid spreading bone cancer) After consulting with the specialist, Roxie will be able to live her best and most comfortable life by amputating her entire right leg..

By doing this, seeing as the cancer has not yet spread to her chest, she will not run the risk of it rapidly spreading to major organs. By NOT doing the amputation, the cancer would rapidly spread, cause pain, and even eat away at the bone making is possible to easily break.

We want to have Roxie around as long as possible and as happy as possible ❤️❤️
