Kennedy Elementary Virtual School, Home of the Mighty Panthers, KEVS Values:(Kind, Enthusiastic, Victory, Scholars) will serve students with a range of academic needs, including students with disabilities, the educational program will need to accelerate and challenge some students and simultaneously provide additional support to other students during COVID-19.

Prepare and Inspire great minds of each student to Soar over the academic skills and become a Master of strength of character necessary for school and life success, KEVS will educates K-5 students in statewide, for rigorous high schools, competitive colleges, and professional careers, Technological innovative holistic model of education that focuses on an education for lifelong learners.

Vision
KEVS values: Students learn KEVS (Kind, Enthusiastic, Victory, Scholars) High Expectations for All Students, A strong and consistent school culture. All students begin on the road to college, starting in kindergarten. KEVS will reach students with an innovative, personalized learning approach for academic success. KEVS will implement a uniquely individualized learning program for each student in a way that cannot be offered in the traditional educational model. KEVS will instill Character Development, Family Engagement School and family work as a team Regular celebration of student growth.  Exceptional Teachers Extensive development of all teachers, High selective interview process. Strategic Use of Data Direct support given to each student, Communication with parents about student growth. Focus on Literacy Reading and writing in all content areas 190 minutes of daily literacy, Character Development.

KEVS will transform knowledge and  fight for better education that has not been going on for years and it has become ever clearer that more is required than what the current education system can offer.

KEVS hold a deep responsibility when it comes to knowledge that introduced the very ideology into our society that was created in United States.

KEVS will  distribute knowledge and creation of transformation of  knowledge in the  students and community.  Education will help  students and people healing and it should be free, and accessible to all, so we will provide it.

This School will bring climate justice  for all as we recognize the relationship between the climate crisis. Climate justice will run through all of the threads of our work as we center structural and holistic approaches to preserving the world we all live in.

KEVS will engage critical thought in the wider mission for liberation and freedom, the world is ever changing, and the thought leaders of the next generation need deep and transformation school to develop their thinking in the face of the present challenges.

Kennedy Elementary Virtual School (KEVS), a statewide K-5 full-time virtual school with a proposed teaching facility, will set a new standard for virtual education excellence in Louisiana. This proven model will support the students statewide, enhance technological innovation, provide a high-quality education, and engage the greater community to provide unique and authentic experiences.

The long-term vision for this School is to:

1)  The KEVS Board’s is to reach students throughout Louisiana for whom an innovative, personalized learning approach provides the best pathway to academic success. 

2)  KEVS will implement a uniquely individualized learning program, for each student in a way that cannot be offered in the traditional educational model or accessible to students due to where they live or their personal circumstances.

3)    KEVS will combine the best in online education with real engagement among students, families, teachers, and the community to promote academic success and emotional support for every learner.

4)  Students in school are provided with a personalized learning experience aligned to their current academic levels and lives by providing them with an individualized plan, regular formative and summative assessments, continuous progress monitoring, real-time, one-to-one teacher engagement, and student support services, like counseling and talented student courses.

5)  Each student will be provided a complete private-school experience that focuses on his or her academic growth, social and emotional needs, and post-secondary goals. KEVS will set a new standard for virtual education excellence in Louisiana that will advance its mission of serving all students in a more flexible manner by providing a personalized and advanced learning platform with high quality curriculum and engaging community experiences.

6)  Many students belonging to disadvantaged populations, who can benefit from additional choice options, such as students who are employed, home schooled, live in rural areas, temporarily expelled, and/or medically homebound.

7)  Technology
The School Administration will use Connections’ proprietary Education Management System (EMS) as its virtual schoolhouse. The EMS is the platform for organizing and supporting KEVS’s entire educational environment. The EMS includes: an enrollment module, a student information system, curriculum (lessons, resources, and assessments), student achievement data, a closed Webmail system, documentation of teacher/student and contacts, and monitoring the school’s overall success.

8)  The KEVS experience will be so much more than online courses. KEVS is a whole-school experience, with academic, behavioral, emotional, and college/career support. KEVS will provide a comprehensive full-time education experience via a virtual learning community that connects students, teachers, and families through unique technology tools as well as face-to face interaction in communities throughout Louisiana.

9)   An annual Culture Virtual Fair that brings together Students to collectively produce knowledge and vision.

10)  Students will be supported by professional counselors, who will address and enrich their social-emotional needs while helping them prepare for college and career. Students will have the opportunity to participate in clubs, activities, and electives. KEVS will also include enriching in-person community learning activities and field trips to round out the comprehensive learning experience. Community partners are very excited about interacting with KEVS students.

11)  KEVS will offer students across the state hundreds of courses, dozens of clubs and activities, and access to resources that will help prepare them for the global economy. KEVS’s personalized approach will provide important skills to Louisiana students including independent thinking, problem solving, and collaboration. KEVS students will be prepared for the global economy with job-skills for the 21st century.

KEVS is here to transform Education.  It has the potential to entirely transform the landscape of education and knowledge. This world needs new and transform ideas if we are to ever stamp out the lack of education that exists across the world.
