Help us get Ingrid mobile!

In 2008, Ingrid was diagnosed with Vasculitis, an auto immune disease whereby blood vessels become inflamed, restricting blood flow throughout the body, resulting in organ and tissue damage. With no known cure, Vasculitis can only be brought under control using steroids and immune suppressant drugs. Ingrid’s vasculitis was under control until the spring of 2015 when the disease resurfaced in a very aggressive manner ravaging her toes and feet, resulting in the amputation of her left foot and right leg below the knee. Despite this devastating outcome, Ingrid’s attitude has remained positive and her steadfast determination to get her life back is incredible. She is an inspiration to us all! Unfortunately, the costs associated with getting Ingrid mobile again are considerable and the province of Ontario does not provide assistance towards the costs for prosthetics or required modifications to vehicles – a basic below the knee prosthetic can cost up to $10,000.  It is hoped that enough money can be raised so Ingrid can purchase a prosthetic leg and foot as well as help with the costs of retrofitting her car so she can start driving again.
