My name is Tabitha Williams, I am the wife of Evan Williams, and the mother to 3 beautiful children, Kieran (8), Persephone (7), and Ashton (5), and also mother to 2 amazing adults Jenny and Nick. My weekday usually starts at 5 AM, I get ready to run my daughter Jenny, she's the covid nurse at Fort Yates Public Middle School, to work by 7:45 am, I drive home and take my three children to school as well as my neice, and twin sisters, and then I take my husband to work. And the day is full of meetings and errands and providing transportation for my other sisters and mom during the day. Then it's off to pick up my Jenny and back in time to pick up the school kids and my husband. Pretty busy, but I love it. In mid-March I wasn't feeling well, I became lethargic and constantly sleepy, I was also very nauseated, had a headache that just never went away, as well as a slew of other symptoms. And noatter what I tried, it just seemed to get worse. On March 22nd my PCP advised me to go to the ER since my symptoms were worse. The left side of my body felt numb, I was in pain and too sick to even drink water. I arrived at the ER and was told it was probably a tummy bug and to get some rest. The next day I was in so much pain, my vision was blurry, my nausea was worse and the left side of my body was a bit weak. I powered through the day, went to parent teacher conferences and then went home to take a nap. I woke up and the left side of my face dropped, I was confused, in pain, scared, and not myself. My husband rushed me to a different ER. IHS ER took me immediately and then had me transferred to Sanford in Bismarck ND. I underwent numerous scans and tests and was admitted. On March 24th, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am in need of an MRI to pinpoint the tumor and from there they will decide how to proceed.
This has been very heavy on us and as if to kick a girl when shes down, our insurance cut me off on April 1st. What a cruel "joke" that was. So, now we are at a loss on how to move forward. We are looking into other plans for insurance but for the time being everything is out of pocket. My husband works part-time, and in this economy our finances are already stretched pretty thin. I am humbly asking for help from all of you, in any way you can. Travel to Bismarck and copay and medicine costs are going to put a strain on us and we are already heavy laden as it is with not only this diagnosis but how the tumor has impacted not only me but my family as it is. My left side is still weak, my vision is not the best on that side, my face is still dropped, my speech is slow, I can't do what I normally do. Which is a hard adjustment for me since I am usually on the go. Please keep us in your prayers and we will update you all as much as we can, and remember anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
