Tablets for Educating Children in Agra's Slums

Can you help bring tablets to underprivileged kids in India?

December of 2022 I finally made it to India! It had been a dream for many years; after saving and planning I was finally there. Many people have asked me what the best part of my trip was. Undoubtedly, it was the kids and all the wonderful people I met while there. One group of kids I had the privilege to meet happened because of a mutual connection in Agra. Saurabh Sharma, the City Representative for Robin Hood Army in Agra, introduced me to some of the kids in one of many tent colonies (slums). Saurabh and many Robin Hood Army volunteers selflessly commit to reducing hunger and poverty. This organization and its team of volunteers are committed to reducing hunger and poverty in the many tent colonies (slums) in India. They work to educate and feed the families living in poverty.

After meeting these kids, I could not stop thinking, “What can I do to help them?” As a teacher, I was driven to find a way to help the kids. When I asked Saurabh what was needed, without hesitation stated that tablets were needed to help with their education.

Approximately 229 million people are living in poverty in India which is the highest number of any country. The best way to help poor families is to ensure their children get a good education. Research consistently shows that educating children, especially girls, changes the fate of the entire family and community.
