Tacos and Tailpipes 2023 Q1 - Michael Abbott

We are currently raising funds to support Michael Abbott, a local firefighter who has been facing significant challenges. In 2021, Michael received a diagnosis of colon cancer and underwent a surgery to remove 2.5 feet of his colon. Unfortunately, he encountered additional complications and concerns following the procedure. This year, while bravely battling his health issues and continuing to serve our community as a firefighter, Michael tragically lost his home to a devastating fire. The fire left him with nothing except his cherished German Shepherd.

Currently, Michael is residing at a friend's place in Buckingham as he waits for his insurance to resolve the situation with his home. Despite the numerous struggles and hardships he has endured over the past two years, Michael continues to display incredible resilience. Each day, he wakes up, dons his uniform, and heads to the Northampton Fire Company to serve as an EMT, selflessly putting others before himself.

Now, it is our turn to show our support and gratitude to Michael. We have initiated this fundraising campaign to assist him during this challenging time. Let us come together as a community and extend our helping hands to a dedicated firefighter who has always been there for us.
