Tacos for Farm Workers!
Farm workers in Kern County, CA are going on strike for the fourth day against the Wonderful Company, sellers of Halos mandarins.
The Company decided to cut the box rate from $53 to $48 which translates to a $1-$2 per hour deduction. Meanwhile, the Wonderful company continues to get kickbacks from the state's agricultural subsidies.
We want the farm workers to know that we support them and their strike against this unjust wage cut. So we are funding a taco truck or lonchera who will be feeding those who participate in the strike rallies in the mornings.
The strike is expected to last until the end of the week but might continue longer so we will fundraise as long as we need to.
