Taekwondo Youth Alliance BREAK-A-THON!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to promote one of the best opportunities and organizations in the Knoxville area. Not only is this led by outstanding people, but it also provides a learning opportunity, a confidence builder and a fitness outlet!

Taekwondo Youth Alliance (TYA) is committed to providing quality self-defense training in a caring environment, which fulfills the needs of children, adults, and our communities. There are many reasons why kids and adults need the opportunity to learn how to defend themselves. Having a program like Taekwondo Youth Alliance (TYA) gives anyone the chance to be educated in self-defense, kid safety, anti-bullying and goal setting for children. It is the expressed philosophy of TYA that no one should be denied the chance to be educated in self-defense because of the inability to pay. Taekwondo Youth Alliance (TYA) believes that changing East Tennessee starts with protecting and educating our community.

My personal experience has provided my son with social interaction needs, respect for others and projection of his efforts to a future accomplishment. As a highly functioning autistic youth - his view of his surroundings is quite different and hard to interpret. The leaders of this group have helped point him in the right direction sociably and personally.

The annual fund-raising event to support TYA is the Board Break-A-Thon! This year’s event will be held on Friday September 22, 2023, at the West Lonsdale Baptist Church. The sponsors of this year’s event are Jon Paul Roberts Family Taekwondo, Naylor Family Taekwondo, Tyler Irwin’s Taekwondo and Chris Waddell’s Taekwondo.
