Tahquamenon General Store Fuel Pump Crisis

Donation protected
Please help us get the Thaqumenon General Store new and rebuilt gas pumps installed.

Gene and Sherri purchased the store in 2002. Due to medical issues, Gene had to separate himself from the store in 2022. Through no fault of her own, Sherri has not been able to sell gas for close to two months. About 9 months ago, someone ran into one pump and damaged it beyond repair. After more than 8 months of fighting with insurance companies, she was finally reimbursed for the damaged pump but not for the months of lost revenue from not being able to use the pump.

In early March of 2023, the other gas pump was put out of service when a snowmobile ran over the pump hose, causing internal damage. Local residents have done what we could to help Sherri and her store but we have exhausted our knowledge and efforts.

Sherri is a very hard-working local resident trying to make a living, but with reduced business from lack of gas sales, she needs help from those of us who rely on her store for gas, groceries and camping supplies. Sherri would like to keep the old country store nostalgic look and feel.

Please help us by doing what you can so we can in turn help Sherri get her store back into full operation. To replace both gas pumps with refurbished ones the shipping and installation costs total $20,000.00. Sherri's store is vital to the nearby state park and the winter snowmobile community.
