Take A Hike Outfiters Hurricane Helene Relief
Donation protected
Hello friends of Take A Hike, Black Mountain.
Thank you for all of the text, calls, and emails that we have received since Hurricane Helene hit our small mountain town. We are safe! All of our staff, and family made it through the storm. We are grateful.
May of you have contacted us asking how you can help our community. We would like to make a way for you to help us as we reach out to those in need.
So far we have been able to provide local folks with; headlamps, camp stoves, and fuel to get through our first 10 days without power or water. Locals helping locals, some we know have lost everything.
As the temperatures drop we are sending out sleeping bags, sweatshirts, and fleece to those in the hardest hit areas of WNC. We want to continue to give and serve.
Today as we write this we still have limited power up in the town of Black Mountain, running water will not be available until our infrastructure can be restored. This will prevent tourists from coming to town for weeks, which is a huge part of our livelihood.
Our goal is to raise 25 thousand dollars to begin to cover essentials for our business, staff, and community.
Even a ten dollar donation, can help cover the cost of a pair of wool socks. In this time of uncertainty, please consider helping us!
Sincerely,
The McFerrin Family
