Take Dad Out to the Ballgame

Well, where to start. My dad was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver, lymph node and peritoneum cancer. While he has opted to undergo treatment, the doctor told us that the cancer will not be cured, the treatment will just slow the progression.

Now, many of you know, but some do not, that the man I call my dad, that IS my dad, does not actually share DNA with me. He has raised me since I was 8. He has stood by me, supported me and ALWAYS been there. He is my hero. He had no biological children of his own and we lost my brother about 2.5 years ago, so he is stuck with me. My dad is a HUGE sports fan. I swear, this man could tell you everything about sports. That being said, he is a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. He has ALWAYS wanted to go to Busch Stadium and see his team play on their home field. We live in California, so obviously it would involve travel and such.

While I do consider myself to be fantastic, as a single mom, I’m not sure I can make that happen on my own. I’m also not cool enough to have any MLB contacts.
