Taking Boys off the street with Technology
Donation protected
In the African setting, boys are heirs. They’re given much more responsibility, they are expected to bear so much. Even at a young age, they’re expected to take care of their siblings even their parents especially if they’re from low or no income earning families. They’re left uncared for while so much attention is paid to the girl child.
While the uncared boys are turning into street urchins, kidnappers, robbers and fraudsters in the south, the northern part of the country is breeding almajiris, bandits and terrorists. When we look at society today, the majority of those who commit suicide are mainly male. Among drug addicts, miscreants, robbers, kidnappers, terrorists and fraudsters, the male child take the lead.
It is against this backdrop and a strong desire to stem this trend that the “ THE STELLAR ACADEMY “ has initiated the “BOYCODE”. The boycode is an upskilling empowerment program aimed at equipping Fifty (50) young boys between the ages of 13-20 with tech skills in robotics, web designing, graphics, blockchain, UI/UX and other relevant technical skills.
Technology has transformed the way we work, play as well as changing the dynamics of our ever-changing world. With an alarming rate of unemployment in the country, there is no better time to prepare these children for the future and give them a better chance at life.
We are soliciting donations to purchase units of PC‘s for the first phase of this project and we count on your support to help us in changing the narrative about the boy child.
