TAKING SAM HOME ✈️ #4077

We, the family of Sam Matue, are devastated and deeply saddened by the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved son, father, a new grandfather to 1 who he was excited to meet for the first time, NZ Police used beyond excessive force and Sam passed away at the scene. Sam was a vibrant, humble and kind soul whose life ended too soon. He was devoted and an unfailing father to 2. Born in New Zealand but grew up and raised in Australia. Because of the section 501 act, Sam was deported back to New Zealand in 2017. Leaving behind everything and everyone he knew. He was immensely family oriented and worked hard. Sam was the type of person who found it hard to ask for any type of help, because he stems from a family who doesn’t come from a lot, but are rich in love and respect.

With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. The money being raised will go towards bringing Sam’s body back home to Australia, where his dad who unfortunately can’t travel will be eagerly awaiting him, as well as giving his kids, and grandkids a safe place to visit because they missed having him physically majority of their lives. Visiting our loved ones helps us navigate through hardships. This will bring closure and a little bit of healing to his family knowing he will be laid with his late mother & dear brother.
